Merit Scholarships
Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E., offers scholarships covering a portion of tuition costs for all graduate programs to applicants who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance in their undergraduate studies. Scholarship eligibility is based both on academic performance and professional experience (if required).
All candidates with an undergraduate degree GPA over 3.5 for U.S.A or 7,45 for Greece are entitled to receive a Merit Scholarship:

To continue receiving the scholarship, recipients must:
- maintain a CI of 3.00. Entering students must achieve the minimum CI of 3.00 by the end of the first term of study at the university.
- register for successive Fall, Winter and Spring terms for at least 1 course (3 credits) per term and maintain this course load throughout each period.
- Comply with all University policies including the Student Conduct Code.
No application procedure is required unless interested students wish to file for additional need-based financial assistance
University Grants
University Grants provide a 5%–35% tuition reduction to students with demonstrated financial need. They may be awarded for up to 9 consecutive terms, with the duration determined by the student’s enrollment history and remaining program requirements. If the reduction is granted while the student is already enrolled, or in the case of readmission, the duration also depends on the number of courses remaining to complete the program.
In order to be considered, the applicant must:
- meet all requirements for admission to the University.
- file taxes in Greece and provide evidence of constrained financial resources. The declared income must be sufficient to cover living expenses and a portion of university tuition.
To continue receiving the grant, the recipients must:
- maintain a CI of 3.00/4.00 or above. Entering students must achieve the minimum CI of 3.00/4.00 by the end of their first term of study at the university.
- register for successive Fall, Winter and Spring terms for at least 1 course (3 credits) per term and maintain this course load throughout each period.
- continue to present evidence of constrained financial resources.
- comply with all University policies, including the Student Conduct Code.
Recipients may be asked to reapply and must report any significant change in their financial circumstances. Grants may also be renamed as donor-funded scholarships without affecting their original terms or obligations.

Although the university tries to support all students in need, the available funds are limited, and therefore, it is highly recommended that interested students apply within the set deadlines. Students who apply late run the risk of their application not being evaluated.
