Academic Advising

Upon their admission to Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E., each student is assigned an Academic Advisor, who is a member of the School’s faculty. Academic Advisors constitute a core pillar of the student support network, serving as a personalized point of contact and as a liaison between academic programs and central student support services.

The Academic Advisor provides guidance on matters of academic planning, course selection, and the organization of studies, with the aim of ensuring the student’s smooth academic progress and a clear understanding of program requirements. At the same time, the Advisor monitors students’ academic development, supports decision-making related to their educational path, and contributes to the formulation of an academic plan aligned with their goals, interests, and needs.

Within the scope of their role, the Academic Advisor identifies issues that may adversely affect a student’s studies or academic performance and, where necessary, refers the student to the appropriate specialized services of Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E., such as the Office of Accessibility. The advising process aims not only at academic success but also at fostering active engagement, responsibility, and the students’ ability to make informed decisions regarding their learning and academic trajectory.

Students are required to meet with their Academic Advisor at least once per semester prior to course registration. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed, either at the initiative of the student or the Academic Advisor, depending on the circumstances and the student’s support needs.

The Academic Advisor maintains the required confidentiality in the performance of their duties and ensures continuity of academic support in accordance with the policies and procedures of Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E.
