UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

BS in Cybersecurity and Networks

I AM INTERESTED STUDY GUIDE

Program Overview

The BSc in Cybersecurity and Networks at Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E., prepares students to protect the digital systems, networks, data, and infrastructures that modern organizations depend on. The program combines a rigorous technical core with the breadth of an American-style Liberal Education curriculum, helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and judgment needed to respond to one of the most critical challenges of the digital age.

Students build strong foundations in programming, computer architecture, operating systems, networking, databases, and wireless and IoT communications, before progressing into specialized areas such as cryptography, network security, privacy and technology policy, digital forensics, intrusion detection, incident response, secure software development, ethical hacking, and penetration testing.

Through applied coursework, specialized laboratories, internship opportunities, and a final capstone project, students learn to evaluate cybersecurity threats and risks, design appropriate countermeasures, investigate incidents, and implement security solutions across wired, wireless, mobile, and IoT networks.

Why Study This Program

Cybersecurity is one of the fastest-evolving fields in technology, driven by the rise of cyber threats, the growing complexity of digital infrastructures, and the increasing need for compliance with national and EU regulatory frameworks. As organizations across every sector seek qualified professionals who can protect systems, manage risk, and respond to incidents, the demand for cybersecurity expertise continues to grow.

This program is designed to prepare students for the real roles employers are recruiting for, from network and security administration to digital forensics, penetration testing, risk management, and cyber policy and compliance. Its interdisciplinary structure combines technical training with legal, ethical, business, and communication perspectives, preparing graduates to work across the full cybersecurity lifecycle: prevention, detection, response, recovery, governance, and compliance.

Students benefit from an English-language American academic environment, academic supervision by Roger Williams University in the United States, and an internationally oriented curriculum aligned with European higher education standards. They also gain practical experience through a credit-bearing internship, industry-facing events, guest lectures, career support, and access to specialized research and training laboratories, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, wireless technologies, STEM, and computer labs.
