BA in Economics

The BA in Economics at Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E. provides students with a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications in areas such as finance, public policy, international economics, sustainability, and security. Students develop analytical, research, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for careers in business, government, international organizations, and postgraduate studies. 

The BA in Economics equips students with the analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills needed to understand and address real-world economic challenges. Through a combination of economic theory, data analysis and applied learning, students gain the knowledge required for careers in business, finance, public policy, consulting, and international organizations, as well as for postgraduate study. The program also provides flexibility through a broad range of electives and a Liberal Education curriculum that promotes interdisciplinary learning.

Economics Curriculum 

Students develop a broad understanding of how economic principles and analytical methods can be used to interpret markets, evaluate data, and examine contemporary business and policy issues. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, helping students strengthen their analytical, quantitative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills for careers in economics and related fields.

The Liberal Education courses included in each program of study are taught by members of the Liberal Education faculty, who support the full range of relevant courses across all programs.
