Required Documents

1. Meet the admission requirements set out in Law 5094/2024, pursuant to which the following individuals are eligible for enrollment in undergraduate academic programs: 

  1. a. Greek or foreign citizens who hold a General or Vocational High School diploma («Γενικό Λύκειο» or «Επαγγελματικό Λύκειο») with an average grade in the four nationally examined subjects equal to or above the minimum admission threshold.
  2. b. Holders of equivalent secondary education diplomas issued by recognized foreign schools in Greece.
  3. c. Holders of international secondary education diplomas awarded by schools either in Greece or abroad, and foreign citizens with an equivalent high school diploma or equivalent vocational education certificate that grants them access to higher education institutions in the country where they studied.

3. One letter of recommendation from teacher/professor of last institution attended; letter from private tutor is not accepted

4. Official high school transcript(s) and diploma

5. Acceptable evidence of proficiency in English

  • Pearson test of Academic English (PTE Academic): 58 or greater
  • Michigan State University Certificate of Language Proficiency (MSU-CELP)
  • Cambridge Proficiency Certificate
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) with Grade A only
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma

  • SAT: 450 or above
  • ACT: 18 or above
  • TOEFL (internet-based): 87 or above
  • GCE higher level English: Grade C or greater
  • Oxford Online Placement Test: 99 or above
  • Duolingo: score of minimum 125, with no sub score below 1157
  • Applicants presenting a TOEFL (internet-based test), IELTS, and Duolingo scores should arrange to have the test results sent directly to the Office of Admissions & Enrollment using the U.L.E. Institution Code Number provided by the Office of Admissions & Enrollment. TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo scores are valid for two (2) years.
  • Non-native speakers of English who have completed thirty (30) semester credit hours (or the quarter system equivalent of three quarters) or have graduated from an English-speaking secondary school or program are considered proficient in English and meet the English proficiency requirements for undergraduate admission.

6. A copy of the state ID card or valid passport (and residence permit, if applicable, for non-Greek citizens)

7. Candidates will attend an interview with a designated Deree, The American University of Greece U.L.E  representative after all application materials have been submitted.
